Harriers were bred to hunt hares in England, they are still quite rare in North America. They are not suited for apartment life and need lots of space to run and get excercise. Like other hound dogs, they like to be in packs and should always be on a leash during city walks to avoid them running off after a scent. When they get lonely they have a tendacy to start howling.
