Basenji are not too talkative unless needed. Basenji show many cat like behaviors like self grooming, avoid water and love climbing. Unfortunately they can be difficult to train so being patient during training is a must. If introduced to the family early they can get a long with other pets and members with ease. Keep an eye on them while in the yard or off the leash, they were bred to hunt prey and may circle or run off after some rodent or neighbours cat.
